Briefing for U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation
On May 27, 2025, Yoichiro Sato, President of Wisteria House Tokyo, welcomed a delegation of U.S. Congressional staffers to Tokyo as part of the U.S. Congressional Staff Exchange Program, organized by the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization. Mr. Sato delivered a briefing on Japan’s political landscape and the current state of the Japan–U.S. alliance.
The meeting featured a lively exchange of views on key topics including Japan’s domestic political situation, the outlook for the upcoming House of Councillors election, and the continued evolution of the bilateral alliance.
As Japan faces the most complex and severe security environment since the end of World War II, we sincerely hope that these efforts will continue to foster deeper mutual understanding between our two democracies and further strengthen the Japan–U.S. alliance, contributing to peace and prosperity in the region.
